Brentwood Celebrates National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day

Today is National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day, a time to recognize and thank Officer Richard Petitt for the care, professionalism and steady presence he brings to our schools each day.

As Brentwood’s school resource officer, Officer Petitt plays an important role in helping us maintain a safe, supportive and welcoming learning environment. He builds positive relationships with students, collaborates closely with staff, and serves as a trusted resource for families. In a district of our size, having a dedicated SRO who knows our students and community personally makes a meaningful difference.

We are also grateful for the first responders who support Brentwood beyond our school walls. Our police officers, firefighters and emergency personnel work tirelessly to ensure our community remains a safe place for students to learn and grow. Their partnership and readiness provide an added layer of security and reassurance for our schools.

Please join us in expressing our appreciation for Officer Petitt and all of the first responders who serve the Brentwood community with dedication and integrity. We are thankful for their commitment to keeping our students, staff and schools safe.
