Brentwood’s First-Ever STEM Fest Sparks Curiosity and Creativity

The Brentwood School District welcomed students, families and community members for its first-ever STEM Fest on Feb. 5 — an evening dedicated to hands-on exploration in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The event transformed the Brentwood Middle and High School commons and large gym into an interactive learning hub, featuring robotics demonstrations, coding activities, virtual reality experiences, environmental science stations, engineering challenges and more. Students of all ages had the opportunity to experiment, problem-solve and engage directly with real-world STEM concepts in a fun and accessible way.

“STEM Fest was designed to give students authentic, hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and encourage creative thinking,” said Sarah Pfeifer, Brentwood Middle School engineering and technology teacher and one of the event organizers. “When students are able to explore, build and test their ideas in real time, they begin to see themselves as innovators and problem-solvers.”

From programming robots and examining soil samples to exploring space science and immersive technology, the evening created meaningful opportunities for students to discover new interests and deepen their understanding of STEM in action.

Building on the success of its inaugural event, Brentwood has already set the date for next year’s STEM Fest on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2027. The district looks forward to welcoming students, families and community members back for another evening of discovery, innovation and hands-on learning.
